Light Saber Freeze Pop Holder Tutorial

⇨ Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth Be With You!

Hello there! Long time no see. Totally my fault. :)
I'll go ahead and blame my work-at-home, homeschooling mom life busyness for that! ;)

I am dragging my butt back out of blogging hibernation today because I've written a little crochet tutorial in honor of Star Wars Day that I'd love to share with you.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn in Gray and Black
I used Red Heart With Love
H 5.0 mm hook
Scissors
Yarn Needle

STITCH KEY:
ch: chain
st: stitch
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
bphdc: back post half double crochet
blo: back loop only
fo: fasten off

NOTES:

  • I carry my black yarn when not using it, rather than fastening off since it will be on the inside. You may opt to do this as well if you don't like to weave in extra ends like me! ;) However, you can also fasten off the black between the 2 rounds - it's up to you!
  • This pattern is FREE, but has not been tested by anyone besides myself. Please feel free to share any questions or comments you may have! I welcome your feedback!

Round 15: sl st in each st around (12 sl st) FO, leaving a tail to weave in ends.

POWER BUTTON:
Begin with Black Yarn and create a magic ring (or ch 2 and work into 2nd st from hook)
Round 1: ch 2, 8 hdc in magic ring, sl st into 1st st (8hdc)
Round 2: switch to gray yarn, ch 1, sc in BLO of each st around (8 sc) FO, leaving a long tail to stitch button to your handle.

FINISHING:
Turn handle inside out and weave in all your ends. Turn in back right side out.

Stitch power button to handle, between rows 8 and 10. Weave in ends!

Finished! Make a few more and go get yourself some Freeze Pops! Yum! May the Light Saber fighting commence! At least until the pops are all eaten or melted that is...

  4. I'm trying this pattern now, and in row 6 when I do the bphdc it doesn't look like the picture (the thin grey line is on the inside of my work). Are those supposed to be fphdc maybe? Or it is very possible that I am confused on the way to do them lol.. just wondering if anyone else has had that issue.

These are very cute and I can't wait to finish!! Thanks for sharing :)
